Bamboo is an amazing, green resource that is hugely beneficial both to the way we want to live our lives and to the environment. For centuries it has been used within Asia for cooking, construction, transport, textiles and medicine. And now the Western world is discovering the benefits bamboo offers to our modern lifestyle.

Cellulose is extracted from bamboo to make bamboo fabric. The most noticeable qualities of bamboo fabric are experienced with the first touch or sight of bamboo:

• Texture - Bamboo fabric feels softer than the most refined cotton, e.g. Egyptian cotton.

• Greenhouse gas absorbent - Bamboo absorbs carbon dioxide and releases 35% more oxygen into the atmosphere than an equivalent stand of hardwood.
• Versatile - Bamboo can grow in dry regions where droughts cause other crops to fail. Because the roots are left in place after harvesting, vital moisture is preserved in the soil. Bamboo thrives in a wide range of climates, from low wetlands to higher elevations in the mountains.
• Biodegradable - Bamboo is 100% natural and biodegradable which gives conscientious consumers real peace of mind. Once you have no further use for a bamboo product you can dispose of it, confident that it will return to the earth leaving minimal environmental impact.
